Frosting is not limited to still images: its December 2025 retrospective describes several video models, including Lynx One’s start/end-frame approach. That is historical model evidence, not confirmation of every current entitlement. A reader already working there should inspect the available native video route before paying to move an image into a second service.
If you do choose a cross-tool route, a still can be attractive and still be a poor starting point for motion. If the action requires a book, a hand and a table, those elements need to exist clearly before the animation begins.
SpicyGen’s guide accepts AI-generated source imagery and rejects real photographs of people or recognizable real-person faces. It also prohibits material involving or appearing to involve minors. An image made in another tool is not automatically eligible.
Check the starting state
For a non-explicit scene with an original fictional adult cartographer, the intended action is placing one map on a table. Review the still against that job:
| Requirement | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Clearly adult, original AI-generated subject | Fits the stated source restrictions |
| Map already visible | The requested action has its object |
| Hand and table visible | The motion has a plausible start and destination |
| Clear framing and lighting | Important details are not hidden |
| One simple action | Avoids asking a short clip to solve several transitions |
These are planning conditions based on the guide, not a promise of a successful clip. SpicyGen specifically asks whether the needed objects and visual context already exist and recommends avoiding complex multi-person scenes.
Frosting’s January 2026 model notice describes a particular SFW beta and starting-image support. It does not establish today’s model menu, a universal export route or guaranteed compatibility with SpicyGen.
Inspect the cross-tool handoff
SpicyGen’s terms and animation FAQ describe uploaded references being interpreted and redrawn before animation; direct animation is separately available for images generated on SpicyGen. A Frosting image is therefore not promised the same treatment as an internal SpicyGen image.
Compare the approved source and working reference for the cartographer’s coat, map shape and hand position. If the map changed during reconstruction, spending more on motion is not the first repair. If your requirement is preservation of that exact starting frame, resolve the import behavior before committing credits. The public guide rejects real photographs, while newer terms have different reference language; this example uses an original fictional AI adult throughout.
Decide whether motion adds anything
If the final article needs a static portrait, a video adds another task and another possible rejection. If the story needs to show the map moving onto the table, a short motion can serve a clear purpose.
Keep the source fixed for the first motion attempt. Change the action instruction rather than changing the character, camera and source at the same time. If the map is absent or obscured, repair the still first; repeated motion requests do not make that missing starting state clear.
No image was uploaded or animated for this comparison. The useful outcome is a decision before spending: retain a still when it already completes the project, or move to video only when the source is eligible and the action is visible enough to describe simply.
